This tour takes you on a gentle trail through the forest in March, when the fresh green of Itajii shines and you can feel the breath of spring. The area is covered with subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests, mainly of Japanese knotweed (Fagus crenata), and is adjacent to a World Natural Heritage site where endemic birds such as red-breasted nuthatch and black-necked woodpecker can often be seen.
The course is approximately 2,000 meters long and takes about 3 hours to complete. The tour also stops at the Nagao Bridge, which is located on the Daikoku Forest Road. This course is also recommended for “forest bathing.
